 Craniosacral relaxation

Craniosacral therapy is a soft manual treatment.

The Craniosacral system is a physiological system with its own rhythmic movement just like the respiratory system and heartbeat. These rhythmic movements are best noticeable from the skull, the spine and the holy bone.

In a good, healthy state, the entire tissue (which means every single cell) should show a certain degree of movement. However, the cells in our body tend to contract under prolonged stress, a sudden impact or chronic tension. This can disturb the body’s natural mobility and lead to various complaints.

Reoccurring causes of restricted mobility are accidents, injuries from birth, emotional or psychological stress, surgery, pollution and many more.

One of the main principles within craniosacral therapy is that the body is always searching for a natural balance and that it has the power to heal itself.

Treatments during and after maternity
Craniosacral therapy can support the changes in a woman’s body during maternity and prepare for delivery. Occasionally one finds the same cranial patterns on children from the same mother due to the shape of her pelvis. Treatment is advised when dealing with problems of the pelvic area, the spine, organs, blood pressure and fatigue. A therapy session can dramatically speed up recovery after delivery.

Treating babies and children
Babies are real and demand a pure approach.
Our journey through the birth canal, which can sometimes take hours, is often a violent experience. A baby’s neck and skull are subjected to tremendous forces, frequently resulting in dislocated bones and vertebrae.  Systems and organs within the newborn baby therefore don’t have enough ‘room’ to function properly. The result: Crying, coughing up mother’s milk, baby colic or respiratory problems… which can lead to other problems later in life.
With these simple craniosacral treatments a lot of anguish can be avoided, both in the present and future.
